Noah Tatum
Hello, So I'm 100% new to unRAID, but quite familiar with networking and virtualization. I'm running the latest version on server right now and setup was a piece of cake. When I went into network settings, I found where you add VLANs, and I did so. However, now I can't seem to change the virtual NIC for my test Ubuntu VM. For example, in ESX, you pick what network the card should be using. I can even do this on my Mac server because it supports VLANs. I can't seem to get this to work. I've read through several posts and they get me nowhere. If this isn't possible, let me know. I know the VLANs are working on the server because it gets a DHCP lease and IP address which I can confirm on my router (Unifi USG). If anyone has any wisdom on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Noah Tatum
So I may have just answered my own question. In the VM settings, I just realized there is a switch to show advanced settings. From there, I can change the network bridge from br0 to br0.30. Hopefully this helps someone else! Quote Link to comment
bonienl
First you need to use the bridge function on the interface, then you will be able to assign the VLAN bridge (e.g. br0.10) to the VM. Therefore stop the VM and go to edit mode, choose advanced view (see top right) and select the appropriate interface. Quote Link to comment
Noah Tatum
@bonienl, thanks for the information! I apparently posted too quickly because I figured it out in the end, but this was a driving me nuts for a good hour. Thanks! Quote Link to comment
