May 6, 20179 yr I am getting started with unRAID, running it on a laptop with drives connected over USB 3. All is well, except for when I choose to shut down the server (from the web interface), the server makes a beep - I'm not sure whether that is a motherboard speaker or the onboard sound on the laptop, but it is fairly loud, and can bother those around. I know that this never happened with any other OS (Windows, Debian, Ubuntu are the ones I've used), only with unRAID. I'm wondering whether there is any way to disable this beep sound. Thanks in advance for the help.
May 7, 20179 yr I can't answer your actual question as I haven't used a laptop for Unraid, but my server beeps on shutdown or restart and is the internal speaker. You probably would need to disable the sound in the laptops bios.
May 7, 20179 yr Author I've gone through all the settings in the BIOS and I can't find one to disable sound. Given that the sound is triggered somewhere in the unRAID software chain, is it possible to disable it?
