" .... was succinctly answered in the 2nd post: "Historically no, same low prices all year 'round." Simple question; simple answer. Period. The only reason the thread really continued was the 2nd line of the first post -- where there was some "doubt" implied ["... If they had some kind of sale, I would probably ..."] Nevertheless, I certainly didn't see CHBMB's post as an "attack". In any event, clearly your question has been answered (No sale prices likely) ... and hopefully you'll find that UnRAID indeed satisfies your needs. One other thought: You indicated you have more than 10 ReadyNAS systems with 4 drives each. You didn't indicate the SIZE of those drives, so there's no way to know whether or not you can replicate that storage with a single UnRAID system. You may indeed need two systems to match the storage you have now. But if you can use one system with a high drive count, you may want to consider using two parity drives, which gives you far better fault tolerance.
