May 8, 20179 yr I have a Windows 10 VM on my UnRaid server which has always been fine. I have a 1070 GPU installed and use the VM to play games. I have just been away on holiday and got back to find one of my array drives had been disabled. I removed it from the array and am currently running it through a pre-clear to test the drive. I tried playing a game last night on the VM however it was running slowly (both in and out of game). Where I would normally get 120FPS on Overwatch I was struggling to get 30. Would having an array drive down and a preclear going cause the issue? I'm not on the same network as my server at the moment so can't include any server diagnostics but was keen to get opinions if the failed drive could be causing a problem as the array is being emulated at the moment.
May 8, 20179 yr Where is the vdisk for the VM located? A pre-clear might well affect performance if it shares a controller with the disk hosting the VM.
May 8, 20179 yr Author The vdisk is on an SSD. I'm pretty certain SSD is connected directly to the motherboard and all of the array drives are on SAS Controllers.
