May 16, 20179 yr Hey, Still in the newbie phase where you do use the search engine before asking for help but you don't always understand the answers... so better safe than sorry ! I'm moving data from various shared folders to ONE shared folder and this shared folder is only on ONE HDD (excluding all other HDD and no parity/no cache on the server) Can I take this HDD remove it physically from my machine and plug it into another unRAID machine (no parity as well). Will it work flawlessly ? Thanks ! Edited May 16, 20179 yr by Max3dmoon
May 16, 20179 yr Yes, with the condition that generally you will need to set a new config whenever you wish to add a drive to an unraid server without erasing it. User shares are simply root folders on the drives, so any root folders will show up as user shares with default open permissions on the new server.
May 16, 20179 yr Used to be able to add a drive to a parityless array without it being cleared. But no harm in doing the new config, and I'm not 100% sure that the rules haven't changed in recent releases.
