May 23, 20179 yr I started using unRAID about a month ago to see if I would like it and I've been throwing drives at it ever since. I really love the ecosystem and have had very few hiccups along the way. My only problems seem to come in the form of cache. I have 2 Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD's in RAID1. I cache my appdata, domains, etc... and I have my "downloads" folder cached as well. Having my downloads cached worked ok for a while but eventually I saw serious dips in performance. Copy's from cache to the array, while downloading, never broke 20MB/s. Dockers would slow to a crawl or freeze unRAID altogether. I came to the conclusion that having the downloads folder on cache wasn't the best idea. So, my questions are as follows: How do I move my "downloads" folder from cache to array? I've tried setting the share to "NOT" use cache and manually invoke the "Mover" but that didn't work. Was there something in my configuration of things that could have lead to the issues I was having? I don't think there was but it never hurts to ask. Can high cache activity cause unRAID to freeze and/or crash? Happened to me a number of times. My SSD temps would spike to 45°C and everything would go to crap. this hasn't happened since upgrading the 6.3.4, but still a point of concern for me. Any input would be greatly appreciated and, as always, thanks for reading.

Set to "Yes" and run the mover, after mover is done set to "No". 29 minutes ago, ceb0610 said: Was there something in my configuration of things that could have lead to the issues I was having? Make sure the SSDs are being trimmed regularly. Edited May 23, 20179 yr by johnnie.black
