My fans cycle up and down

120mm fan wall bracket

My fans, when server is idle for awhile, start cycling up and down in about a 15 second period.  Fans ramp up and then immediately ramp down.  Can this be stopped?  Sometimes with a shutdown and power up it stops until I access the server again.  I am in Texas where it's warmer than most places, but i'ts in a well ventilated space.

Thoughts?

Everything else about it works well.  It's just a bit annoying.

This means one or more of the fans rpm is too low, so ipmi tries to compensate by spinning them up, you can adjust the lower threshold values with the ipmi plugin.

IPMI plug in states it can only control Asus motherboards.? .  Is that true?

Any help in what setting would need to be changed in order to make the proper adjustments.  Fan control is grayed out and can't be adjusted.

Fan control doesn't work with X9 boards, but that's not the issue, you just need to change the lower limit of the fan(s) that are working below them.
