RickInHouston
Unraid build with most current version. Norco 4U rack mount 24 drive enclosure. Noctua (NF-P12 PWN) fans and (NF-R8 PWM). SuperMicro MBD-X9SCM-F-O LGA 1155 Intel Micro ATX Intel Xeon E3 Server Motherboard. Intel E3-1230V2 LGA1155 Processor 120mm fan wall bracket My fans, when server is idle for awhile, start cycling up and down in about a 15 second period. Fans ramp up and then immediately ramp down. Can this be stopped? Sometimes with a shutdown and power up it stops until I access the server again. I am in Texas where it's warmer than most places, but i'ts in a well ventilated space. Thoughts? Everything else about it works well. It's just a bit annoying. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
This means one or more of the fans rpm is too low, so ipmi tries to compensate by spinning them up, you can adjust the lower threshold values with the ipmi plugin. Quote Link to comment
RickInHouston
IPMI plug in states it can only control Asus motherboards.? . Is that true? Any help in what setting would need to be changed in order to make the proper adjustments. Fan control is grayed out and can't be adjusted. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Fan control doesn't work with X9 boards, but that's not the issue, you just need to change the lower limit of the fan(s) that are working below them. Quote Link to comment
