Plex folder broken after Permission tool?

Featured Replies

Since the last time I ran the Permission Tool I'm having issues with Plex. I have 3 folders which are used by plex. My movies and photos play perfect, but my shows aren't buffering/transcoding for some reason. Some low mins (~20) do play from time to time, but in 9/10 times it isnt working.

I checked the logs and I found this message:

err: shfs_rmdir: rmdir: path/PlexMediaServer/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Cache/Transcode/Sessions/plex-transcode-.... (39) Directory not empty

I removed the folder, but no result. Any idea on how to fix this?

Check your paths in the Plex docker template.  Try setting /config to be /mnt/cache/appdata/... instead of /mnt/user/appdata/...

Don't ever run that tool if you have docker applications installed.  Instead install Fix Common Problems and then run the Docker Safe New Permissions Tool

Ok, will do.

Yeah, I made the stupid mistake of doing that. :(

The new permissions tool can be used, but make sure the cache drive is excluded from the disks list or perform the operation on specific user shares instead.

I got it working.

I installed Plex from another repo, changed the path to the solution above and ran the tool.

A big thanks!
