June 5, 20179 yr Hello, just created a account to get help with this problem. I'm trying to create a VM for general use with Win 10 pro, and since my hp z800 have two xeon x5650 and 12gb of ram, i want to share the resources with my wife, and use only one PC for both systems. So i'm trying for now to use the system with the trial, and added a 8400gs as the primary gfx for unraid, and my gtx 970sc for the win 10, if everything works, i'll get another gfx for my wife and then create another vm instance. But i'm getting this error ( and screenshot is added as well ): EXECUTION ERROR "internal error: qemu unexpectedly closed the monitor: 2017-06-04T23:58:57.240639Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=42:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x6: vfio: failed to set iommu for container: Operation not permitted2017-06-04T23:58:57.240681Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=42:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x6: vfio: failed to setup container for group 222017-06-04T23:58:57.240687Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=42:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x6: vfio: failed to get group 222017-06-04T23:58:57.240704Z qemu-system-x86_64: -device vfio-pci,host=42:00.0,id=hostdev0,bus=pci.0,addr=0x6: Device initialization failed" Look like it's a gfx issue, what i'm supposed to do? My xml is attached as well. I really need help! Thanks! win10proxml.txt

June 5, 20179 yr probably need to try re-creating the vm with ovmf as bios for your gpu... or it may be some other windows issue. You might have to search a bit.

The first time, i din't created it using advanced view, so it wasn't on ovmf already? I created another one, but it stays the same, should i try with seaBIOS?
June 5, 20179 yr sorry, looked at your log quickly and missed the ovmf section. Are you trying to install right now? try installing with 1 cpu only, then add more after it's done.

Now i'm going to try it with games to test the performance! Thanks for the help, you saved my sunday

Thanks for the help, you saved my sunday hopefully you followed an install guide. there are a few tips that help with stability/etc. glad your sunday wasn't ruined! mine was less fun putting ubuntu on a laptop and fighting drivers....

June 5, 20179 yr Author 16 hours ago, 1812 said: Here are 2: Well, i've noticed that my fps in CS:GO isn't 300fps anymore, now it's around 80... Cinebench gpu test was around 80, now its less than 37fps. Cpu performance is the same, i set msi on both gpu and nvidia hd audio, but nothing boosted my fps. I did everything those videos tells to do, is there anything else to have a more close bare metal performance? 2x xeon x5650 ( 12 core - 24 threads @2.67ghz ) and a GTX 970 sc 4Gb on bare metal is a ass kicker, but now in unraid its doesnt seem to be powerfull..

About the gpu drivers, the last stable for the 970 sc. What can i do? With this 200fps loss in counter strike it's impossible to play smoothly.
June 7, 20179 yr are you isolating your vm cores from unraid? it's not going to make a 200fps difference, but something doesn't sit right. post your server diagnostics (tools tab)

June 8, 20179 yr a couple things your vdiskdata share, if this is where your .img for the vm is, it looks lik that share is set to run from the array. that will cause degraded performance. "use cache" should be set to yes or prefer. regarding cpu pinning and cpu isolation, read this post: After doing that, run your benchmarks again. Some systems see a 5% loss vs bare metal, some see 20%.
