I added in my Parity2 drive and selected all my additional data drives.

When i went to select start array it said you cannot do a disk replacement and add drives.

So i unselected Parity2 and clicked start array.

Somehow it added in the Parity2 disk into the Data array with all my other disks.

I couldn't do anything since it was starting the array, i went back in unselecting the disk i want to use for my Parity 2 and starting the array again.

Now it has Disk 8 marked as not installed i never used it, how do i remove disk 8 from my array ?

You need to do a new config, reassign all disks are resync parity (tools -> new config)

i am beyond amazed, that worked so easily.

Any other array system would require a complete wipe and rebuild to do that.

 

That's my evaluation completed this system replaces my VM Server, NAS and is far more flexible than anything else I've tested.

Time to go buy my license.
