June 7, 20179 yr HDHomeRun hittin "NAS INSTALL" and my server isn't listed. I can see I in windows. I've enabled SMB, NFS, FTP ... there is nothing I can find anywhere on reddit, google...
June 7, 20179 yr The HDHomeRun is a network device for tuning TV channels. It can be shared by multiple apps simultaneously (for example one app can be using one tuner to record something, and other app could be accessing a tuner to watch live TV). The HDHomeRun keeps track of which tuners are in use and assigns and releases them as appropriate. The setup is done through a browser interface. If it is a cable oriented HDHomeRun, you will need a cablecard from your cable provider, and there are some steps to configure it with your cable provider. (Took me over an hour on the phone with mine to get this configured with mine). Once that is all setup, you can start to connect to it from apps like Plex via its DVR feature. I have a HDHomeRun and cablecard (3 tuner version) and use it to record TV with Plex. Works great. Sorry but your question gives so little information that I have not idea what you are asking. Are you trying to setup the HDHomeRun with a Docker like Plex? Or another Docker? Is this even unRAID related? You'd need to provide more information for anyone to really help you.
June 7, 20179 yr Author The tuner is on the network with an active cablecard. I am using Windows 10 for HDHomeRun Setup - to place the recordings on a NAS (Unraid.) Unraid is viewable from Windows PCs on the network and Unraid has SMB, NFS, FTP enabled. But HDHomeRun doesn't list the Unraid server as available to store recordings.

The software you are using to record with should allow you to record to the NAS. or any external/internal drive. I use a MacMini with EyeTV and record to UnRaid, but I had to set up a main directory on UnRaid then the EyeTV creates it's own directory within that called "EyeTV Archive" where it places the recordings. So I have on UnRaid: TVShows > EyeTV Archive > then whatever recordings I make. You may have to mount the Volume TVShows (or whatever you use for a name) then point the recording software to that. I did that the 1st time now EyeTV mounts it without my help.

Is HDHomeRun software showing network locations on servers other than unRAID? Maybe it only allows recording to local drives?
June 7, 20179 yr Author It's showing my Windows servers (I have two that I'm consolidating to Unraid.) I can't get it to work there (past the selection step) for other reasons (SSH) but I kind of gave up on fiddling with that when I decided to switch and upgrade to unRaid. But UNRAID doesn't even show up in the NAS box - just the windows servers and my cablemodem (lol.) And Emby as its own entry over on one of my Windows servers (haven't put that on unRaid yet). But UNRAID doesn't even show up!
June 7, 20179 yr Community Expert Not clear. Is it just the HDHomeRun (software? hardware?) that can't see your unRAID? Can you see your unRAID from your Windows machines?
June 7, 20179 yr Author It's the HDHomeRun configuration setup wizard. Yes I can see UNRAID from my laptop, wade through the directories, etc.
June 7, 20179 yr Is your recording software on your PC or on UnRaid and what is it? I've never used the setup wizard software, everything just works. But your recording software must support HDHomerun. I probably can't help with PC specifics but it can't be that much different.
June 8, 20179 yr Author I believe I'm just installing a viewer first. I have purchased the PVR but I haven't gotten that far. Interestingly enough my WebOS LG TV does not see Unraid server either. I believe that's Linux-based. What on earth would prevent a Linux server from not being seen by other Linux devices (I should check Android TV - I have not.)
June 8, 20179 yr There's a docker container by yoshithewire I've been using this for my PVR engine for a solid year. Check github Edited June 8, 20179 yr by phbigred
June 8, 20179 yr Author So this is interesting - if I choose 'my computer' then network, I get to the UNRAID server. It just doesn't populate in that wizard under INSTALL NAS
