June 12, 20179 yr Hi everyone, 4 days into my unraid build everything has been smooth up until now... I've mounted an unassigned devices 3tb wd red drive which I will be using for my downloads. I've purposefully made it an ntfs as I don't wish for this to be part of my array. Unfortunately, I can't seem to write to that drive. Read is fine, but each time I try to write to it, it says I don't have permission. I've looked around the settings but can't see anywhere to set permission for unassigned devices. Can anyone please guide me in the right direction? I've spent the best part of 4 hours trying to fix this but am not getting anywhere.... Many thanks Edited June 12, 20179 yr by entourage2111
June 12, 20179 yr Community Expert Are you trying to write to the drive over the network from Windows (SMB). Do you have Unassigned Devices SMB security set Public?
