super.dat 0 kb

Featured Replies

Using 6.1.8, after a power outage, server booted and showed all drives unassigned. super.dat is 0 kb in size.  Ran chkdsk and reported no errors.  I am not sure which drive is my parity.  I tried to assign all drives as data drives but there are 7 of them that unmountable so I am still not sure which to assign as parity.  I ran blkid on all 17 of them and they all show a TYPE of xfs or reiserfs.  None of the types are blank.  Can someone please help me get the array back?

Thanks!

Upgrade to 6.3, on v6.1 there was a problem mounting some disks with fs set to auto.

Then try again with all disks as data, if more than one comes up as unmountable post the diagnostics.

post up a diagnostics file with your next post.    'Tools'    >>>  'Diagnostics'

And don't panic at this point.  You have ten drives worth of data that should be good and you have a excellent chance of 'fixing' the others.

By the way, at this point, you should be considering the purchase of a UPS  and doing a backup of your Flash Drive on a regular basis.  A screen print of the 'Main' Page of the GUI would be a big help at this point also...

I upgraded to 6.3.5 and still get 7 unmountable.  Here is the diagnostics.  I appreciate the help.  Will be adding UPS/backups/screen print from now on!

You have all disks set as reiser, according to your OP some are xfs, set filesytem for all disks to auto by clicking on each disk on the main page.

Some are set as xfs but they may be in different slots, so set all to auto.

Setting all to auto left only one to unmountable.  Looks like I found my parity!  Thank you so much!

So now I should just stop the array and set that one to no device, set the parity drive, then it will rebuild?

You'll need to do a new config, (tools -> new config) and reassign all disks, you can check "parity is already valid" before array start but there will be some sync errors found on the next parity check, it's normal in this situation, run a correcting check when possible.

Running parity check now.  But I just realized that somewhere I lost my mysql docker.  Is there a way to bring that back from the flash drive backup without recreating the container?

Apps Tab, Previous Apps, reinstall.  (Or Docker Tab, select the my-mysql template from the templates drop down (user templates section)

If its not in either list, then you'll have to reinstall, and set the template back with the same appdata settings, etc that you had before

Awesome!  Thanks!  Got it back from the user templates section!
