June 22, 20179 yr Hello, im planing to run a Nextcloud in a VM and use my Unraid Array for the DB. Maria DB or SQL Lite Store the DB into a Single File. The Question is if the Database gets bigger then 1 Drive what happens? Does it split the Database? Is it even possible? Are there Work arounds? For example: if i have 2 Drives with 1T and i have a database with 1,5T what does happen? How can i solve this? Regards Bengele
June 22, 20179 yr Community Expert Unfortunately no. The design of unRAID means any file must fit on a single drive. There is no way built into unRAID to allow a file to be split in the way you want. Not sure what would create a single database file that is that huge? You mention NextCloud, but when using that the database is normally relatively small - it is the separate files that are managed by Nextcloud are what takes up the space (and they can be spread across drives).
June 22, 20179 yr Author Hello, Thank you for you reply. I thought that the files that are in the next cloud are stored in the db. So the db is just an "index" ? That means unraid would work with nextcloud perfectly if i got many data on it? Thankys Regads Bengele
