Alternatives to Sunon, Delta,and Nidec

Featured Replies

My backup server is moving into my garage (Arizona, 100 degrees inside the garage at night during the summer).  I need five very very capable 120mm fans.  Noise is not an issue.

I have had metal Nidec and Delta fans that were 24 and 48 volt that probably were somewhere north of 200CFM.  I've also had Sunons (plastic) that were about the same.

Those super nice fans are going to cost me over $150 to get five.  This system will power up once a month to back up parts of the primary server and then shut back down.  So I don't need super expensive industrial fans designed for 24/7 operation in dirty environments.

I have used a few dozen various PC-type 120mm fans over the years, and they are definitely not enough CFM.  I will admit that I have not tried the super-high-airflow-noise-is-irrelevant PC fans, so maybe they would work.

Willing to spend the $ on the good stuff if need be, but, does anyone know of any cheaper alternatives to the industrial fans?

Thanks.

I'd still stick with the Delta's of noise isn't an issue.

They have some 12V ones which can push in excess of 145CFM and cost ~10USD each delivered

Nice!  I'll give those a try, thank you.
