June 29, 20179 yr Hi all One of my disks was marked red and removed from the Array. I run a short smart test, and it completed successfully, so I was wondering if it's something wrong with the disk, or could it be a problem with the cables. This disk is the only one that is attached to a H310 controller and not directly the motherboard with the original supplied sata cables. Also, 2 months ago I got an alert about read errors during a parity sync and back then I replaced the disk, but I think that one was also connected to the HBA, so maybe it's not a coincidence. I still haven't rebooted the server, so the disk is still emulated. Should I replace the disk, or restart and see if the disk gets mounted? tower-diagnostics-20170628-1159.zip

Disk is already mounted using the emulated disk, you'll need to rebuild it using the same or a new disk. Since SMART looks fine I would swap positions between this disk and one connected to the onboard controller and rebuild, swap both cables, if same disk fails again replace it, if the swapped one fails, replace cables. June 29, 20179 yr Author Thanks. I'll connect it to the internal controller, rebuilt the disk and replace the cables to be sure.
