[6.3.5] Plugin Update Check Hangs

Featured Replies

Description: After upgrade to 6.3.5 plugin updates no longer work for me. I don't know if this is a bug or just my setup.
When I check for updates it stays stuck at

plugin: checking unRAIDServer.plg ...

I also can't manually paste in plugin links to download either. They hang as well.

How to reproduce: Upgrade to 6.3.5

Expected results: Plugin update finds updates and finishes.

Actual results: Plugin update hangs for infinity as far as I can tell.

Other information: I tried the webgui update method, and a manual update. I have uninstalled all plugins, dockers, and VM's.
I have gone through and manually deleted everything extra that isn't stock except for my disk config, share data, and user passwords.
I looked at top via ssh and it gets stuck at

wget --no-cache --progress=dot -O /tmp/plugins/unRAIDServer.plg https://raw.github.com/limetech/unRAIDServer/master/unRAIDServer.plg

I have duplicated this on a fresh install on separate hardware. My router has no rules that could block this, and when I checked its connection it is actually connects but downloads at around 50bps (yes thats bits not bytes) but never seems to finish. Oddly though if I use a separate network connection (my phone) it works fine. I tried changing the servers IP to see if it was a firewall issue, and as I said before used completely different hardware to duplicate this. Another odd thing is I can download ffom another Linux server on my network using wget just fine. This is so odd I don't even know where to go from here.

As you noticed, the link works fine (and checking for updates works on my secondary 6.3.5 server).

Maybe delete config/network.cfg from the flashdrive (this will reset your network config back to defaults) and try again.

Thanks for the reply. The test I did with separate hardware was a new install with no config, it should have been the stock network config right?

Yeah it would be / should be.

You've got 3 ethernet cables connected.  Just for fun, pull 2 of them and see what happens after a reboot.  (I'm not a bonding guy)  After that, I'm completely out of ideas as it'll be over my pay grade

Yeah I tried that this morning, I copied the stock network config file over and pulled the other two cables and it didn't change anything. I am going to set my router back to stock config and see if that changes anything. Its a Mikrotik so this might be interesting...

Got it fixed. I re-flashed the firmware on my Mikrotik router and that almost fixed it. Then I did the same to my Cisco switch and it fixed it completely. I'm still not sure what the issue was, but it went from blocking Unraid OS only to my Windows laptop. This only happened when the traffic was going through the switch. If I plugged straight into the router it worked fine. Anyway weird problem solved.
