Disks showing 0 bytes free but shares saying they are only 26% utilised

Featured Replies

Hi all

Bit of a strange issue. I have 3 disks in my array on 10 disks that are showing as full in Windows and unBalance but the shares window shows they only have 26% of their capacity used. I can't manually move any files to them either, I've tried using allocation method most free and different split levels but it seems that unRAID just cannot write to them as they're showing full in other places. Here's some screenshots to hopefully explain better:

Any ideas?

There are also read errors on disk5, post your diagnostics.

Disk5 doesn't look very healthy, regarding the out of space error, I remember a similar issue a while ago, IIRC it was fixed by copying something from disk to disk using midnight commander (or your favorite local tool), these are the problem disks:

/dev/md2 1.9T 1.5T 0 100% /mnt/disk2
/dev/md4 1.9T 493G 0 100% /mnt/disk4
/dev/md5 1.9T 492G 0 100% /mnt/disk5
/dev/md7 1.9T 479G 0 100% /mnt/disk7

Disk2 also has the same problem, although a 1.5TB, copy something (one or more large files) from e.g. /mnt/disk1 to /mnt/disk4, if fixed repeat for the other disks.

Thank you I will give it a try. These HGST disks are recertified so I didn't expect them to last longer and they've worked so far for a year so they're doing ok!

Thanks a lot

I'd tend to steer clear of recertified anything. Worse than used.

It was all I could afford at the time

Just to update, the advice has solved the issue and I now have 5TB free showing in Windows

Thanks!
