Slow copying to shares

Featured Replies

Hi!

Recently I noticed that copying to shares takes much more time. I have a 250GB Samsung 850 EVO and it used to copy with full speed (around 100MB/s). Now it does that for few seconds and then starts to oscilate between 20 (or somtiems lower) and 80 (at best). Also while I'm copying a big chunk of data (ie. 150-200GB) opening a dashboard is pretty much impossible. The website loads for minutes.

Is there something wrong with my NAS? What info is needed to troubleshoot it?

Are you regularly trimming your SSD?

Post diagnostics during a copy.

It's not as bad now as it was 2 days ago, but speed is going down from time to time (before it was mostly 20-40MB/s) and the Dashboard loaded faster although noticably slower than just few minutes ago before I started copying.

Nothing in the logs, sometimes a btrfs filesystem can become slow without an apparent reason, see the replace cache procedure on the FAQ and instead of replacing format your cache then copy the data back, to format change filesystem to xfs, format, back to btrfs and format again.

Thank you. I'll try that.
