July 10, 20178 yr Hello everyone, I currently have unraid 6.3.5 installed and even prior to this version i was starting to see a few very weird issues. Dashboard page wont load from time to time, VM's locking up every once in a while, docker containers running but were not accessible until a restart of the container happened. It wasn't to big of a deal up until now. The problem has become much worse. Dashboard refuses to load, Apps tab wont load, docker tab wont load, plugins tab wont load, and now my entire server randomly shuts down when a VM is running from time to time. I am debating weather or not i should reinstall unraid, but i am afraid to because i have SO much (at least for me) configured on my current install. Is there a safe and easy way to start unraid from scratch and make sure I can reload all of my drive, share, docker, VM and Unraid settings? I have attached a system log just in case someone is able to find something that sticks out. Thanks all! syslog.txt
July 10, 20178 yr Community Expert While the syslog is nice, most of the Gurus want to have the diagnostics file ( 'Tools' >>> 'Diagnostics' ) as it provides much more information about the state of the entire server.

I would love to send it to you, but it wont download the Diagnostics zip. Everything seems to be breaking on me in the web interface. Is there another way to get that info for you?
July 10, 20178 yr Community Expert type diagnostics on the command line. The file will be written to the logs folder on the flash drive.
July 11, 20178 yr Author Ok i got the Zip, is there a specific file you need or should I attach everything? There is a lot in the zip. Thanks

Thanks Normally you simply attach the complete zip. Most of the included files are very small - the only largish ones tend to be the syslog(s) which are always wanted. The whole idea of the diagnostics is that a complete set of information is collected as different problems require different mixes to help with working out what is going wrong.
July 11, 20178 yr Author Thank you for the explanation, I have attached the zip. Thanks for the help guys! battista-unraid-diagnostics-20170710-1552.zip
July 12, 20178 yr Community Expert I am no expert on reading syslogs but one thing I see is that the Fix Common Problems plugin has flagged a number of your Dockers as needing updating. I would suggest that you start there. You seem to have four ssd's installed but you haven't installed the ssd Trim plugin. I don't have any ssd's in my system but many folks are running that plugin (apparently) to keep ssd running smoothly... By the way, you are using those ssd's only as cache drives? (The last I heard, LimeTech was recommending not using them in the protected array.)
July 12, 20178 yr If the server randomly shutsdown when running VM's, the first thing to do is check for BIOS updates. Your diagnostics was after a reboot, and no VM was started during it, so not much to say there. You can go to the settings for Fix Common Problems, toss it into troubleshooting mode, and then follow the instructions that appear on what to do after the next crash.

I have 2 480GB SSD's for the cache pool then i have 1-240GB SSD that is passed through to my gaming machine for game installs.

Attached is a newer Diagnostics zip with the VM on. I was finally able to get into the Fix Common Problems plugin. Its very hit or miss. I will try your suggestion and see what it comes up with. July 17, 20178 yr Author solved most of my issues. The Zoneminder Docker container that i had installed was breaking everything, except for my VM crashes that crash the entire server. I uninstalled the container and poof everything started working again. I reinstalled to see if it was just a coincidence but everything broke again. So I am keeping it uninstalled for now until I feel like messing around with it and figuring out why it is breaking my server. Thanks all
July 17, 20178 yr Glad you figured it out! You might want to wander over to the support forum for Zoneminder and post about your issues there. Whoever has built the docker may be able to help interpret the various logs and/or point you somewhere that might be able to help.
