[SOLVED] "401 Unauthorized" error after setting root password

Featured Replies

Help please! First time unRAID user here. I've built my new NAS system, got an 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer Fit USB drive with the latest OS version on it, booted up, accessed the NAS from my Win7 PC, got my trial key and (as per the video) changed the ROOT password, only to find I'm getting a "401 Unauthorised error" trying to access anything! Reloading the "Tower" page goes straight to the error message! This is in Firefox 54.0.1 (64 bit). But if I go into Chrome, it asks for authentication and I can log in fine.

I've obviously doing something wrong in Firefox, probably not saved the password in Firefox itself, as there is no entry in the passwords section for http://tower (nor is there any way of adding it). Don't really want to use Chrome, any thoughts on how to sort this problem, please?

Afraid not. Thinking about it, I've had a similar problem before with Firefox and passwords, I think it's best if I take it up in their forum.

Cheers

I've sorted the problem. I logged onto another PC with Firefox successfully - this synchronises all my PCs. Just logged onto my main PC and all is well, as it asks for authentication on logging into http://tower.
