I just switched over to unRAID this morning after years of using FreeNAS, then being tired of it, switching back to Linux and DIYing a server, then getting annoyed with managing it, and switching back to FreeNAS. I think I'm going to like it since it has already tripled my storage ( ~12 TB available [9 usable] with 10x HDDs in RAID10 to 28 TB with 11x [hot spare] in JBOD) and I like the interface.

 

I found the OpenFLIXR "Plugin"/VM Template which is awesome because it saves me the trouble of installing all that stuff....the problem is I can't get the damn thing to boot, which should be pretty simple, since I've used KVM multiple times. When I try to boot it, the VNC console just drops me to the EFI shell. I've tried messing around with other options but haven't gotten anywhere. I don't see an option to select boot order. I just downloaded the image directly from http://www.openflixr.com/ and transferred it over to my server since there aren't really any installation instructions.

Try setting the bios to be seabios. You'll have to nuke the vm to do it though.
