July 23, 20178 yr I am on server 6.2.3. I use the Plugins Upgrade Unraid OS Server to Upgrade to 6.3.2. As the upgrade screen says, I reboot my server. But the server never actually upgrades to 6.3.2. It stays on 6.2.3. Am I missing some step in my process ?? Is there some manual process I have to run in order to actually upgrade the server ? Any help will be appreciate. Thanks Kevin ([email protected])
July 23, 20178 yr Community Expert First thing. Post up your diagnostics file ( Tools' >>> 'Diagnostics' ) after you attempt the upgrade BUT before you reboot. (If the upgrade process was successful, you should see a notice that a reboot is required.) Second thing, tell us (in words) exactly what steps you are using to upgrade and any possible error/problem messages you see during the upgrade process. Third thing, why are you only going to version 6.3.2? The most current stable version is 6.3.5 and that is what you should be running!
July 24, 20178 yr Author 1) The process was successful. I got a message that a reboot was required. But I will try it again and see if there are any diagnostics available . 2) I received the message at the bottom of the GUI stating that Unraid OS v6.3.2 was available. I clicked on the message where it said DOWNLOAD and it downloaded the upgrade. The Upgrade Downloaded and installed and sync'd then finally said reboot necessary. I stopped the Array and rebooted the server. Upon rebooting the Upgrade message was still there the version on the main page still said v6.2.3. I am attaching the info from the upgrade page below: plugin: updating: unRAIDServer.plg plugin: downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dnld.lime-technology.com/stable/unRAIDServer-6.3.2-x86_64.zip ... done plugin: downloading: https://s3.amazonaws.com/dnld.lime-technology.com/stable/unRAIDServer-6.3.2-x86_64.md5 ... done Archive: /tmp/unRAIDServer.zip inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/bzimage inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/bzroot inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/bzroot-gui inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/changes.txt creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/ inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/ident.cfg inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/network.cfg extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/go creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/ creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/dockerMan/ extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/plugins/dockerMan/template-repos extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/docker.cfg extracting: /tmp/unRAIDServer/config/domain.cfg inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/license.txt inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/make_bootable.bat inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/make_bootable_linux inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/make_bootable_mac inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/memtest creating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/ inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/ldlinux.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/libcom32.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/libutil.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/make_bootable_mac.sh inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/mboot.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/mbr.bin inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/menu.c32 inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.cfg inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.cfg- inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux.exe inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/make_bootable_linux.sh inflating: /tmp/unRAIDServer/syslinux/syslinux_linux syncing - please wait... Update successful - PLEASE REBOOT YOUR SERVER plugin: updated 3) Only upgrading to that version because that is the version that the main panel says is available. "• Dynamix webGui v2016.11.01 unRAID OS v6.3.2 is available. Download Now" I would appreciate any help. If I have to , I will resort to a "by hand" upgrade instead of using the GUI to do it. Not a big thing. I just thought it would be a convenience to use the tool provided.
July 24, 20178 yr Community Expert Since the current general release is 6.3.5 I would suggest you do not want to sort out upgrading to an earlier release. Doing the ‘by hand’ upgrade makes sense. Note that there are now more bz* type files to copy.
July 24, 20178 yr Community Expert Two things to try if you would like to do a bit of troubleshooting for the community. First thing, go the release thread for version 6.3.5. Look at the first post for the instructions on what to do when the GUI upgrade does not work. Try the pasting of the upgrade link as instructed. Second thing, if that does not work, download the release and follow the instructions for that scenario. Post back with what worked and request to a moderator that this thread be transferred to the "Defect Reports" section. I would think that LimeTech would want to know that the GUI upgrade method is not working when folks are moving across several versions to get to the most current one. (It may simply a simple one-time change on the Webserver for the file location. But if it something more convoluted than that they should be made aware of the issue.)

If it will help anyone I will do what you suggested and see what comes. I am not in an immediate hurry to upgrade since the array is working great. Just like to get to the latest versions before too much time passes on them. Thanks
