SOLVED - 6.3.5 incorrect cpu pairings in vm setup

Featured Replies

HI there I have an issue with incorrect cpu pairings in the vm setup

under system details i get

CPU Thread Pairings

cpu 0 <===> cpu 16
cpu 1 <===> cpu 17
cpu 2 <===> cpu 18
cpu 3 <===> cpu 19
cpu 4 <===> cpu 20
cpu 5 <===> cpu 21
cpu 6 <===> cpu 22
cpu 7 <===> cpu 23
cpu 8 <===> cpu 24
cpu 9 <===> cpu 25
cpu 10 <===> cpu 26
cpu 11 <===> cpu 27

however in the windows 10 VM template  i get

 CPU 0 CPU 1 CPU 2 CPU 3 CPU 4 CPU 5 CPU 6 CPU 7 CPU 8 CPU 9 CPU 10 CPU 11 CPU 12 CPU 13 CPU 14 CPU 15 CPU 16 CPU 17 CPU 18 CPU 19 CPU 20 CPU 21 CPU 22 CPU 23

i tried linking cpu 1 and 13 but i get an error saying the pairing isn't valid,

the error i get if i try and link cpu 1 to cpu 13 is

Execution error

Invalid value '13' for 'cpuset.cpus': Invalid argument

If i link cpu 1 to 17 as suggested by the pairings the VM fails to start and it crashes the whole of unraid, the vm page work refresh i can't click on other tabs, and i have to force a reboot...

so this is bad... it means i can't run VMs on anything but a single core... hopefully fixable..

Thanks,

Very weird. What is the motherboard?

Do you have the latest motherboard BIOS installed?

unRAID version 6.4rc7 will have a correction. This version becomes available soon(tm).
