Questions with speed transfert + plex docking or 1 pc transcode + 1 pc unraid

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got few questions. i'm new to unraid I will explain to all what is my setup first.

Unraid Pc

ASRock - Z270 Gaming K6

Intel® Core™ i3-7100 CPU @ 3.90GHz

16 GB ram DDR4

1 x 8TB Parity

1 x 8TB Array

4 x 4TB Array

1 x 256 Go Cache

Plex / Download pc

Dell T3500

Intel Xeon 3530

18 Go ram

1 x 3TB Movies

1 x 3TB tv series

1 x 2TB Torrent download /  Temp (to be organize and moved away in correct hdd)

Questions:

  1. With the nas I can't get more than 9 mo/s. Shared drive is configured with cache as yes.
  2. When the cache is full the transfert should still continue directly to hdd ? if not what i can check.
  3. I would like to use my dell t3500 for transcoding plex and downloading only. I made some test with movies i put in unraid. Files are reading correctly take sometimes to start. But i would like to know because when the file is called by plex it is directly copied over ethernet. So its the hdd that are working and not my sdd in unraid. Is there a way to specifed that or it is not going to use hdd faster ?
  4. If i only want to keep my unraid pc with plex. Should it be able to handle docker etc. I check cpu benchmark and it is practically same thing.

I can clarify more my questions if i'm not clear.

Thank you
