Can't open logs in unRAID GUI [6.3.5]

Featured Replies

I've been meaning to post this for some time.  Ever since sometime around when I made the last upgrade to 6.3.5, I can't open any logs from the GUI.   The window opens to display it, but the screen is forever waiting on a reply from the server and it never comes up.  (see example in photo below)   I have seen this with:

  • The unRAID syslog (from the Main or Dahsboard screen)
  • The user scrips logs for individual scripts.
  • The Unassigned Devices log

I don't look at logs all the time so I can't say for certain that this directly correlates to the 6.3.5 update, but I first noticed it around that time.  I wish I could give you more certain info on that but it wasn't something I went looking for specifically.

What I've also noticed is on any similar windows that open and show install or update progress.  In nearly all circumstances where I'm updating either dockers or plug'ins.  Unlike the logs issue above, the behavior for this varies a little:

  • I've seen the window never show any progress on the update and eventually had to just "x" out of it.  99% of the time the update has fully ran.  Once specifically I recall it didn't update but I think I closed it too fast.
  • I've seen it run the update with a blind window and then the "done" appear at the bottom but blank screen above.
  • When I do a "check for updates" on the plugins page, it used to show the progress of checking each plug-in.  Now it waits until completed and they all appear at once with the "Done" at the bottom.

Diagnostics file attached if it's helpful.  My signature is current on hardware and add-ons.

I don't have the best info on this one because it's a little quirky but will work on collecting anything useful to help solve it.  Please let me know.

Have you white-listed the unRAID server in any ad-blockers that you might have running?

Not specifically, but I've also never had too.   I don't run any "ad-blocking" ad on software.  The only similar 3rd party software I run is from WOW my internet provider, and that is basically F-Secure.  That is a more recent change as I previously used Norton.  I'll look for a place to white-list there tonight.

On that front I do this from Chrome but will try for I.Explorer tonight as well.

Thanks for the thoughts.  I'll report back here.

Attached is the setting inside the WOW virus software (F-secure badged for Wow ISP) that was blocking the content.

The trouble is I can't find any white-list settings that would allow me to clear certain programs or IP's.  So for now it's off.   How much of a risk would you think that really is?
