My shares temporarily disappeared!

Featured Replies

I woke up this morning and realized that my Plex had stopped itself. When i checked on unraid, all my shares had disappeared! Scared the heck out of me. I could see that all my files were still on the disks. I rebooted unraid and everything came back. I am uploading the Diagnostics file, could someone help me decipher this and let me know what happened? this has never happened before. Thanks.

It looks like those diagnostics are from after the reboot?    To try and work out what went wrong the diagnostics from when the problem occurred are needed.   If this happens again try and get the diagnostics before you reboot.

Thanks itimpi

I'll just state the obvious. We have not seen any other users reporting this problem. This tends to point to something unique to your server.

You didn't mention how long was your uptime before the problem. It could be some sort of memory leak, that starved critical processes and caused them to crash (like the fuser file system). Or could be some type of hardware issue in your server. (You might consider running a memory test just to rule out that relatively simple to test for explanation.)

Have you made any substantial changes recently (hardware upgrades, new VMs, new Dockers)?

This one might remain a mystery. Hopefully it won't recur and we'll chalk it up to sun spots.

Hi all,

Sorry for not responding back for some time, I travel alot for work purposes. Just so happens that my unraid server did the exact same thing again last nite, while away this time. I was able to VPN to my home network. I downloaded the diagnostics before rebooting the system, everything came back. I have not made any changes to my server for quite some time. Here is the zip file. Please let me know what it could be. I really appreciate all the help.

Thanks.

Hi squid, thanks for the help and reply.

I had been thinking about buying another 16gb of RAM. I've not really made any setting changes via putty, only the web gui. How would I go about fixing the OOM errors.
