July 29, 20178 yr I have no idea where to go with this and I am afraid to try anything on my own. I *had* a user share called 'Pictures' with a handful of folders and thousands of files. It has completely disappeared and I have no how or why or when. What is more confounding is that I do not see a Pictures folder on any single disk (/mnt/disk1, /mnt/disk2, etc.). How could a user share and all content within it just up and vanish? I have not had any drives redball. I certainly did not delete all the files/folders AND delete the share from the console. I don't have any dockers or VMs that interact with that share. I have attached my diagnostics file although I don't think it will provide much help. Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated (especially if it prevents my wife from killing me). John unraid-diagnostics-20170729-0539.zip
July 29, 20178 yr Community Expert This does sound strange - I have never heard of files disappearing without trace. The strange thing is that looking at the config files I cannot see any signs of a 'Pictures' share (although share names are obfuscated it could show on of the form 'P....s.cfg'. Could you have accidentally renamed the share? Could you have moved the top level folder to be inside another one (this would be almost instantaneous so might get missed if done accidentally). Do you have Disk Shares activated? If so a top level folder of the form 'diskN' on one of your data drives might cause unexpected things to happen. Do you have any dockers that have access to the /mnt/user path (with no further sub-folder specified)? If so they would potentially have access to all user shares (including the Pictures share). The same might apply if any had access to the /mnt/diskN type path. Do you have backups - this is certainly something you SHOULD have backups of.
