This is a great forum and it looks like a solid product!  i want to thank everyone before hand for all the help and valuable post on here.  i am looking for recommendations for a build i will outline below what i currently own and what my goals are Sorry if the post becomes a bit long. :)

Currently own:

2 Dell computers running vmware that host:

1. Plex Media Server Windows server 2012_r2

2. Windows 10 VM that i use for multiple things, sonarr, bitorrent to name a few.

3. Back up server.

Here are the answers you guys like to see ( keep in mind i am in no rush i can get parts little by little to do it correctly! )

What is your budget

Of course save as much as possible and reuse some of what i already have :) not really locked in a number yet.

How many drives

I would be happy with 30TB to start ( as stated above i have more storage )

expandability

important i would love to grow slowly.

unRAID Add Ons

1. Plex media server ( Handle 10 streams max 1080p )

2. sonarr

3. radarr

4. plexpy

5. plexrequest

6. kvm ( for a windows vm ) not crucial but ideal.

7. sabnzb

8. torrent client not sure what one

green/low power drives or faster 7200 rpm drives

Dont mind the speed on the drives if playback is ok.

Forgot to add i don't want to use AMD anymore i have had trouble with this PC in the past :)

Hello and welcome :).

You mentioned 10 Plex streams, are you supporting that now?  It makes me start thinking about transcoding and streaming quality...

Unfortunately, you'll probably only be able to reuse the power supply if you get modern hardware since you don't want to reuse the CPU and motherboard and and newer systems use DDR4...

Guys,

Sorry for all of my reply's i think i have narrowed it down to this board what do you guys think ? Board Link it looks like with this board i should be able re reuse my memory / case/ power supply correct me if i am wrong

If you do a search here on the forum you'll find that a number of people have used that board for their dual E5 setups. It's not an ATX board, though - you'd need a larger case.
