Data not copying over

Featured Replies

i am having a little difficulty. i rip my blu-rays with my mac pro and save them to the mac pro hard drive (faster than ripping them directly to the UnRaid server), after i do about 4 i copy all of them to the server and walk away. i have noticed that after april 14th nothing that i copy over is available on the server. i have attached a copy of my sys log with the hopes that someone smarter than me can help me. i just watched a copy of 36gb go from my mac pro to the server, it was on the server for about 10 seconds and then it disappeared. none of the user shares are set to exclude or include any of the drives, but one of them is down to about 10gb so i am wondering if it is trying to fill that drive before it moves onto the next one. i have also included a screen shot to help

thanks

log on to the unraid server and check if the files are there (you can use mc to get around..)

if they are, then you have file permissions not set properly on those files.. do a ls -al in the directory where the missing files are and post the output..

This syslog has rolled over, so is not terribly useful, even though about 230KB.  I believe if you check the /var/log directory, you will find the earlier piece(s), possibly named syslog.0 or syslog.1 etc.

You have configured the mover script to run every 2 hours, so about 11 to 17 drives are spinning up and down, up and down.  I would strongly recommend that if you want to run the mover script every other hour, you disable spin down - leave the drives spinning.  Otherwise, I believe you may be seriously shortening the life of your drives.

There are a few unusual error messages ("failed command: CHECK POWER MODE") that appear from time to time, but I don't have time at the moment to research.  They are each resolved without further issue, so are probably not serious.  More later ...

here is what i have found out. if i move a blu ray rip from my mac pro to the "blu ray" share it will copy and then disappear, but if i move it directly to one of the drives then it will stay there. i believe that it has something to do with the size free on the drive, but i don't know how to correct it. i could exclude the drives that are less than 40GB free i suppose, but i am wondering if there is another solution that i am missing.

increase split level setting.
