vinotamu
First of all, I am on Unraid 6.2.3. I am trying to upgrade to 6.3.5 and encountering issues. (Working this in another thread so don't worry about that here). As part of my debugging process of the upgrade I have wondered if it wont let me do the upgrade while I have a bad disk in the array. To this end, I am trying to replace a 2TB drive with a 3TB drive. Unfortunately my parity is only a 2TB drive so I am going to replace the parity with a new 3TB drive as well. OK. Stage is set. 1) Upgrade Parity. 2) Replace Data Disk 3) Hopefully upgrade server. My question to those in the know out here is this: Can the Parity Drive be upgraded while I have a bad data drive in the array or do I need to first go get a 2TB drive to replace the data drive, THEN upgrade the Parity drive, THEN add the other 3TB to the array as a new drive ? Any insight will help (Even a simple RTFM if you tell me specifically what I need to read). Thanks Kevin Link to comment
