ASUS Z9PE-D8 & ASMB6 iKVM

Featured Replies

Think I'm maybe missing the point of IPMI here but I notice that my MB can take the ASMB6 iKVM module which is supposed to allow remote management. Looking at the manual for the ASMB6 iKVM it would appear that it requires a dedicated "Management LAN" socket to allow access. Z9PE-D8 does not have a dedicated LAN, so what exactly would adding the management module give me? Very little information on this online, can one of the onboard Intel NICs be configured for this?

You use one of the existing lan ports, but will still have two IP addresses. One for the ASBM module and one for unraid. Not sure if you can pick the interface or it defaults to the first.

You also need to change Deep SX to disabled. You find it in  Advanced configuration --> Chipset configuration --> PCH configuration.

If you do not set this setting your ASBM module will turn off when turning off the computer.
