tatertot817
16gb ddr3 ram fx-8320 8-core ga-970a-ud3 gtx 750ti Unraid 6.3.5 I recently setup unraid and I bought a new motherboard for the iommu and the windows vm runs games at a horrible speed, I have another gpu in the main pci-16x slot for unraid to grab for the gui and the second pci-16x slot has the 750ti for passthrough, both virtualization and iommu is enabled and unraid reports so in info. I have 8 gb of ram going to both the host and guest of and 6 cores of my cpu to guest and 2 for unraid. My problem is that games run terribly. A game like minecraft will run at 30 or lower frames and I know my gpu can do much greater than that. Whats weird is that in task manager the game is only using around 30% of the processing power available. I installed the virtio 0.1.1 drivers and the latest nvidia drivers from geforce experience. I also have ram leftover according to the webgui of unraid and the task manager of the guest os. Thanks for the help. Meodato
Have you already looked at the kvm.amd npt bug that is affecting Ryzen (and older) AMD systems? Posts may state Ryzen specifically, but it is an issue in KVM with regards to older AMD chips as well. If you haven't considered it, that may be the cause of your consternation. Quote Link to comment
tatertot817
I used this thread to try to disable ntp with no luck, I simply pasted this command into a putty session on my unraid host. Was this the wrong step to take to fix this issue? echo "options kvm-amd npt=0" > /etc/modprobe.d/kvm-amd.conf Quote Link to comment
