August 7, 20178 yr Need help... New to unraid. System is setuped since about 3 months now. Was working almost perfectly. Now, every 3-5 days of uptime gui and all services stopped responding. I can still log on via ssh but can't reboot or nothing, system doesnt answer. I can do basic command like top and i see informations. I disabled anything i could, any useless dockers. The only job of that machine is a plex server with plexpy. I'm a noob in unraid/linux world so please be patient helping me Thank you very much. The only way i seem to be able to is to press reset, then unraid reboot and starts a parity check but everything restart for another 3-5 days without problems. Specs of the machine unraid is running on : Intel i7-4771 8gb ddr3 Kingston Asus mb z270-pro Be Quiet! Dark Rock 3 cpu cooler (system's run really cool) 500W Bronze PSU, in really big decoding job system takes about 200W so it's enough. 250gb kingston ssd for cache ~12 WD RED 3tb hdd (not sure system is freezed i will reboot it) I tested the ram and anything and system is running rock stable. August 7, 20178 yr Author Do i need to do this when it's freezed of after the reboot ? Because when it's freezed not a lot of thing can be done. I've just restarted the server can i do this now or it's too late?

The diagnostics command will still work. If it doesn't, then you can also cp /var/log/syslog /boot/syslog and then upload the syslog by itself. 57 minutes ago, MatlockQC said: I've just restarted the server can i do this now or it's too late? Too late.
August 7, 20178 yr Author Ok thank you very much, i'll get back to you as soon as my unraid crash again.
August 26, 20178 yr I'm having the same issue, thought i would add my diagnostics to this thread. Here is a zip of before the crash and after bootup. Normally booting in GUI Mode, happens almost daily. I have ran a memtest for 20 hours no errors. Logs usually say something about mce error but i am unable to narrow it down. pool-diagnostics-20170826-1131.zip pool-diagnostics-20170824-1645.zip Edit: May have posted to early. Install mcelog and finally figured out how to get the info from it. (so easy just type mcelog in terminal). Turns our some of my RAM is causing errors. Starting with one stick per 24 hours we will see how it goes. Edited August 26, 20178 yr by zSars
August 28, 20178 yr Author Mine took 20 days this time before crashing... very annoying... I'm trying to do the diagnoctics command but after i entered the username it's not responding of this is very slow...i left it running about 5h and never ended... i had to reboot the system. What can i do ?
August 28, 20178 yr Hey Mat Here is how i got my diagnostics zips. Make sure you have Community Apps install and then install Fix Common Problems and Nerdpack (so you can install mcelog). Under the Settings tab you will find fix common problems and it will give you nice descriptions of what could be issues. Open a telnet or ssh session to you server and type the following command to monitor the log live. tail -f /var/log/syslog This is how i found my mce errors and then i just typed in mcelog into terminal to view them. Narrowed it down to my Buffered RAM being an issue on my server. i swapped them with Unbuffered and no more errors... You may want to run a memtest to check your RAM. You can select it while unraid is booting.
