April 23, 201016 yr Hey there guys, new unraid-er, first build! Basically i'm looking to make this into a: streaming server (ps3mediaserve + transcoding) (possibly looking into other things xbmc etc) Download server (untorrent is the way from what i have read, also looking at sabnzb+ with add-ons) SMB shares Backup server (unraid recommended for this?) Possibly more - Haven't yet got ot that stage yet So far i have CM Stacker 810 2 x Norco 5 in 3 (5HDD in 3 5,25") 2 x Samsung 1.5TB 1 x WD 1.5 TB 4 x Seagate 750GB Some OLD Gigabyte S775 Mobo (6 Sata Ports) 2GB Generic RAM E6500 Intel processor Huntkey True 650W TITAN Power Supply (Nerver heard of these guys, concerns me a bit) Just wondering do i have more than enough grunt for my tasks? Any recommendations on things to change? I have 6 Sata Ports so i need some form of a sata card/s (future expandability would be a plus!) - any reccomendations? Requirements are, that i only have PCI-Ex1 slots left! (4 of them though) Have been looking at these "HighPoint Rocket 620" - http://www.highpoint-tech.com/USA/r620.htm Anyone Have any Experience with them and unRaid? Cheers, Thanks in advance!

April 23, 201016 yr Highpoint RocketRaid 620 Website says AHCI compatible since 2.6.19, so should work. The next step would be to see if multiple 620's will work in the same machine. Huntkey True 650W TITAN Power Supply (Nerver heard of these guys, concerns me a bit) Not a bad PSU, not a great PSU either. If you already have one and its quiet then no need to replace it immediately. Since you mention a torrent server I assume it'll be 24/7 so I'd plan on getting a decent corsair/seasonic/xfx/Antec/Coolermaster/OCZ/thermaltake at some point for peace of mind. You're planning on using a Gigabyte M/B so please read up on HPA issues (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=6094.0) before building the machine and plugging any drives in. Looks a good setup, make sure you have a good compatible USB stick, most people miss the importance of a good USB stick for unRAID.
