August 12, 20178 yr Weird, unraid is only detecting 2 cores on my new setup. I'm running an MSI B150M Eco board with an i7-6700T chip - Bios report 4 cores but the the General Tab on Unraid only report 2 cores activated. I'm not able to assign more than 2 cores on any VM. Runnign a dmesg | grep smpboot return the following: dmesg | grep smpboot [ 0.000000] smpboot: Allowing 2 CPUs, 0 hotplug CPUs [ 0.029468] smpboot: Max logical packages: 1 [ 0.047329] smpboot: CPU0: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700T CPU @ 2.80GHz (family: 0x6, model: 0x5e, stepping: 0x3) [ 0.130140] smpboot: Total of 2 processors activated (11235.49 BogoMIPS) Everything seem to be OK with the BIOS - everything is detected properly so I'm thinking it's UNRAID... any ideas how to unlock the 2 other cores
August 12, 20178 yr Author Allright I figured it out... BIOS has a SERVER ECO mode, however, when the this switch is flipped on, the MB only activate 2 cores to "save power" hence why I was only able to see two cores. Once disabled, the full cores are now available to UNRAID. So problem SOLVED!
August 12, 20178 yr Glad you figured it out. Should you have additional issues, please refer to the attached post for instructions on obtaining and posting the diagnostics file. Good luck with your build!!
