unRAID becoming unresponsive intermittently

Featured Replies

Hello, I've been having an issue with unRAID becoming completely unresponsive via WebGUI, telnet, and the local console, however I can still ping it on my local network.

It does this completely at random with it happening anywhere from an after an hour of uptime to over a week.

I would attach a log file, but currently everything is unresponsive...

Anyone have any ideas on what I can do without having to do a hard reset (and yet another parity check)?

If the system is unresponsive and does not recover, you have no choice but to do a hard reset and parity check. I would then install the fix common problems plugin and put it in troubleshooting mode, this will gather logs at a set interval which should prove helpful and will be saved when and if the system becomes unresponsive again and you have to do another hard reset. In the meantime, have you made any hardware changes recently? I would check all your cables to make sure they are connected securely to each drive and SATA port, also make sure all cards are seated properly.

I'm running a RYZEN build which I've realized it still has teething issues, I'm upgrading to 6.4.0-rc7a to see if that helps.

That is probably a good move and explains your issues.

Have you read through this thread, specifically this post by Pauven:
