Another harddisk fail? (Samsung F2 1.5TB)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

A few months ago one of the hdds in the array failed quite obviously with loud noises and lots of SMART errors (and had it replaced). A few days ago I noticed a

DISK_DSBL

next to one of the hard drives and a blinking orange instead of a nice green status bubble (see attachment).

I performed a SMART-test but I doesn't show any errors.

Any ideas on what's causing this problem? Thanks!

Edit: found this topic on how to re-enable the drive. Let's try that first... :)

That smart test shows errors and it shows that some short tests never completed.

There is no long test either.

Do a short test on an idle system. It takes about 2 minutes.

Do a long test on an idle system overnight. It takes a little over 200 minutes (I believe).

That disk has some bad sectors reallocated. Servo seek failures reported as well.

I'd make sure you have a copy of the drives data as well as following Weebos advice.
