Where are the VM profiles stored?

So unfortunately the disk on which de vm's where installed crashed. 

Fortunately: i have a backup - but how can I import the old VM profile? 

The win10 VM needed very specific settings to boot and I can't really remember what those where.

    You need to restore the backup (if made) of the libvirt.img file, which defaults to being stored in the system share.

    Squid to the rescue! Crashplan backup the old one, so was a simple matter of restoring the libvirt image file.
