unRAID restarting on its own

Featured Replies

My unRAID server has been restarting and I don't know why.  At first I thought it was a Marvell controller issue so I replaced it, but the problem persists.  I thought the problem was solved because it was up for 4 days, but it just restarted twice right now.  It happened when I was trying to play a video on my Emby docker.  I put the "Fix Common Problems" plugin on Troubleshooting Mode and have attached the logs.  Let me know if anything else is needed to help me get to the root of this issue.

This sounds rather like an issue around the CPU overheating or the power supply.   These are about the only things that should cause unRAID to be shutdown without manual intervention.

Yep - sounds like a PowerSupply issue...

I'm leaning towards the power supply as well since my CPU temps don't seem to be getting too out of control.  I'll test with a different PSU and report back.

I have a spare power supply that I want to test with my server. Some of my components are listed below.  The question I have is: Can I use a Corsair CM750 PowerSupply and only connect one of the CPU 8-Pin power connectors to the motherboard?  I only have one 8-Pin connector on my backup PSU and I want to make sure it won't risk my components by underpowering my dual CPUs or something.  Will the second CPU just not turn on and be recognized at all?
