Living Legend
I currently run LibreELEC on a chromebox to feed my main tv. I have a few other tvs throughout the house as well, and one now is running on a VM on my unRAID server. My VM is on the cache disk which is an SSD drive. I've dedicated 4 CPU and 4 GB RAM. I've passed through an NVIDIA GPU as well. Everything works, and works pretty well. However, it's clearly not as snappy/responsive as the chromebox. When you fast forward 30 seconds it will take a full second to populate the new image. Things just take a tiny bit longer to populate. Is this the nature of a VM, or can I dedicate resources in a different way to match the abilities of my Chromebox? Link to comment
tjb_altf4
My suspicion is its purely a buffering issue, otherwise you would have issues during normal playback. Have a go a playing with the buffer settings and see if that helps http://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO%3AModify_the_video_cache Link to comment
Living Legend
I'll have to give this a try. Only reason I'm skeptical is I'm playing with out of box buffer settings for all my other devices with no issues. With the VM, this is the first time I've had any type of delay. Again, it's not bad, but transitions are not as smooth. Link to comment
