September 5, 20178 yr I replaced a 2tb drive with a 4tb drive. rebuild successful. it has been some time for me in having to perform this procedure. I recall in the past after a successful rebuild, parity would show as "valid but not checked yet" or similar and then it was recommended to run parity check to verify success. I currently see in gui parity is valid and Last check completed on Tue 05 Sep 2017 05:48:04 AM CDT (today), finding 0 errors. Is it no longer necessary to run a parity check after a disc rebuild with version 6.3.5 and dual parity when replacing and rebuilding a disc? thanks. Edited September 7, 20178 yr by wirenut
September 5, 20178 yr Community Expert Not necessary, but many recommend a non-correcting parity check after a data disk rebuild to check whether the rebuilt disk actually agrees with parity after the rebuild. I always do this, but I have never had any come back with errors.
