September 5, 20178 yr Hi all, I just got back from an extended leave and am now facing a few errors across two drives in my server. Could someone please help me determine what the next steps to take are? I have attached the diagnostics to this post. Thanks! tower-diagnostics-20170905-0938.zip
September 5, 20178 yr Your syslogs are full of these Sep 5 09:32:46 Tower ntpd[1650]: receive: KoD packet from 74.120.8.2 has inconsistent xmt/org/rec timestamps. Ignoring. Sep 5 09:33:52 Tower ntpd[1650]: receive: KoD packet from 74.120.8.2 has inconsistent xmt/org/rec timestamps. Ignoring. Not sure exactly what that is about. Does your server have the correct time? SMART for all disks looks OK. Since disk5 is disabled you will have to rebuild it. Check connections. Do you know how to rebuild a disk to the same disk?
September 6, 20178 yr Author Hi trurl, Running the 'date' command on the server returns the correct timestamp so that seems fine. Thinking back to earlier this year, I had a problem on the same disk: I can rebuild disk 5 again but first: is the error on the parity drive of any concern? That was not there last time.
