Moving Unraid to new hardware

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have an UNRAID  server at the moment running 4 HDD which i want to move over to another system.

Do i simply unplug the USB stick and plug in the other machine, then plug in the drive?

If i keep the disk order will it be ok? what about VM's and dockers?

Not sure what you mean by this. Just plug everything in at once and boot from the flash drive.

Should just work as before unless there is some hardware incompatibilities. Take a screenshot of your disk assignments just in case.

Pretty much.  unRaid is hardware agnostic, so it won't particularly care so long as all the drives are recognized.  Doesn't hurt though to take a screen shot of your current drive assignments just in case.

They won't care either

VM's

If you're using hardware passthrough, then you will have to adjust the VM settings
