September 7, 20178 yr Crossing my fingers here... But in my secundary system I still have a Marvell controller.. I used to have issues every 4 to 6 weeks starting beginning this year.. Everything appears to be stable now for several months allready..
September 7, 20178 yr A thought I've had for my Marvel controllers is to put them all on a backup server that is running unRAID 5.0 since I don't remember ever having the problems with Marvel controllers with unRAID 5.0 that unRAID 6.0+ has had. Probably because 64 bit drivers were required for 6.0+ and they are buggy from Marvel but the 32 bit drivers from Marvel are much better. That is all just a guess. It would allow use of Marvel based controllers if you could built a spare parts server. unRAID 5.0 had support for > 2TB drives so you could still use large drives. You would just loose dockers, VMs and dual parity so would only really work on a backup server that may spend most of the time turned off/asleep. Edited September 8, 20178 yr by BobPhoenix
