offline uncorrectable returned to normal value

Featured Replies

I got this email and several others this morning-

Event: unRAID device sdd SMART message [198]
Subject: Notice [BRUNNHILDE] - offline uncorrectable returned to normal value
Description: ST8000DM004-2CX188_WCT02WAD (sdd)
Importance: normal

All the emails are similar, all related to the same failures of a drive that was removed last week and is not currently installed. These emails were sent when I installed a new drive to begin preclearing it. The new drive has a different serial number of course, but unraid has assigned it the same designation (sdd) and I think it must be confused by this? The SMART values for WCT02WAD have definitely NOT returned to normal values.

Very likely, parameters are stored on your flash device in /config/plugins/dynamix/monitor.ini

if you delete that file, unRAID will start with a clean sheet after reboot.

Is this preferred behavior though. It seems to me that if unRAID sees that the designation sdd is available for reassignment it should not have stored data from previous drives with the same designation.

IDK. Maybe I'm worrying about nothing.o.O

The notification you received basically meant that all is set back to normal for this device. From now on it will report changes related to the new device.
