how do I restart the Web GUI in 6.3.x

Featured Replies

not sure now what exact 6.3 version I am on (as I can't see my Web GUI anymore), but I was in the middle of migrating a disk share to another disk share (in the process of pruning down old disks and converting to XFS in the process) when all of a sudden my Web GUI didn't respond anymore...I can still ssh in and tried to do it the "old" way (killall emhttp) before realizing those were very old instructions.

what do I have to do in 6.3 to get the Web GUI back up, preferably without rebooting the server and interrupting the big files-move operation that's going on?

Emhttp is not designed to be restarted.  You have to reboot

yeah, I also just found this thread, discussing the same thing, followed its instructions to find and kill the most likely process-culprit (my gut feeling was "Krusader", which I am using to do all of my data-migration within the array) and rebooted the server...the GUI is back up now. so I'll have to see where things were left, as far as the data-migration goes.

thanks, Squid!
