I can't add 2nd parity drive

hello

 

I will like to add a second parity drive to my array.

All drives are Seagate archive 8TB.

 

1) i have preclear the new seagate 8tb

2) stoped the array

3) assigned to 2nd slot 

but i can't start the array. the START button is greyed

 

i also have one more new seagate 8tb that i start preclear and haven't finished yet.

 

any thoughts?

    The message suggests that the parity2 disk is (slightly) smaller than one of the data drives.   If you provide the diagnostics zip file (Tools->Diagnostics) then we might be able to spot why.

     

    also just as a check what license do you have?    I notice that parity2 takes you to 7 drives which is more than the 6 drives the Basic licence allows
