URGENT: Need help getting webcam working

Featured Replies

I have a Logitech HD C920 webcam which is very tempermental.  It only used to work when I was able to passthrough a USB controller, but I eventually managed to get it working through assigning it to my W10 VM.

Now, just as I have an important video job interview on Thurs (hence the urgency) it's stopped working again.  It shows up in VM manager, but it's not detected by W10 - I've tried on 2 VMs to see if it's a VM specific issue, but the same problem on both.

Any ideas?  Do I need to install more virtual drivers?

Thanks in advance

This used to work in the VM but now doesn't? Did you try rebooting? I'd do a full power down so the CPU fully shuts down.

I've tried:

- rebooting server

- rebooting VM

- moving to another USB socket

- adding to a diff VM to see if a W10 issue

I had it all working before.  I'm not sure when it stopped working e.g. if it's a rc8 issue, as I don't use it regularly

Go back to 6.3.5.  You're on an unstable version right now.  That'd be the first thing I'd do before anything else.

I tried this very quickly this morning but it got stuck on the reboot (think I know why) so I'll try again this evening when no-one's at home.  Will let you know how I get on
